Early (and best) Mother's Day gift so far

Some of my favorite women. I don't know what I'd do without their friendship and support
Today was a good day. I got to have brunch with some friends in the morning and spent the afternoon playing at the park, hanging out with some great neighbors and had dinner outside while the neighborhood kids all played together. We just came in and got Lainey and Beau ready for bed. My eye has been bothering me all day and Lainey caught me rubbing it. Apparently she didn't like me rubbing it and told me, at least I think she told me to stop rubbing it. Then (and this is the mother's day gift part) she grabbed my face, looked at me and said, "My best friend." Twice! I don't think I've ever gotten teary eyed so fast in my life. That is a moment I'll remember forever. Not the sleepless nights or temper tantrums but the moments when our hearts touched. Lainey thinks dandelions are just the best thing ever. Whenever I see them I think about my grandfather. When I was little he used to take the leaves from young dandelions and add them to the other greens in his salad. For years I thought it was just another thing my family did that was a bit odd. That is, until I saw dandelion greens as part of a salad on the menu at a very nice restaurant in Seattle. He was definitely on to something!

Yet another picture of Beau asleep in the stroller. Either parks are boring or the stroller is really comfy. All too soon he'll be running all over the place just like his sister.

Brunch was so fun! Don't know what I'd do without you and the mommas either (:
