3 months

Sweet Baby Beau,

You are three months old today sweet boy. It's been a busy three months that is for sure. You are such a joy and have brought sunshine into these dreary winter and early spring days. My favorite thing about you so far is how your smiles start in your eyes and then spread across your face. Your whole face lights up and it is impossible not to smile back at you, even when it's 3am! You love being read to and like your sister, your favorite book is Ten Little Ladybugs. Baths, diaper changes and watching your sister are just a few things that make you smile and get you talking. It really doesn't take much to get you to smile. You are especially captivated by Daddy's voice and get very quiet when he talks to you. You seem to change every day and every morning I look forward to your killer smile.

In just three days your adoption will be finalized and you will be legally and officially ours, even though you have been "my" boy since the moment you were born. You have completed our family and I love being your mom.
I love you baby boy,
Mommy

First trip to the zoo this year

Me and one of my boys
These guys were having a very lazy day.

Wide load!

Me and my favorite girl

I hate going to the zoo on the weekends but that's pretty much the only time Robert can join us for the whole thing and he loves showing Lainey all the animals. It wasn't as crowded as I had feared but still not as good as going during the week. Lainey's favorites are the brown bears, giraffes and gorillas. The baby gorilla in particular. She was fascinated with him (or her) and got right up to the window. When our turn came to leave, she grabbed Robert's hand and led him back to the window to get another look. Of course there are no pictures because I didn't have the camera when it was my turn and Robert couldn't get a good shot. It will just have to wait for our next trip, which is looking like it will be next week. We can't wait for the penguin exhibit to open. I have a feeling Lainey is going to love the penguins. It's her favorite game Robert plays on the Wii Fit and she walks around here saying, "waddle, waddle, waddle."

Overdue Chicago Pics

Last week Robert had to go to Chicago for work and was lucky enough to score tickets to the Cubs home opener at Wrigley Field. He got really good seats and of course, I sent the camera with him to document the trip. Unless you're in Arizona, Florida or somewhere in between, baseball in April is COLD! He froze his cute tush but I think it was worth it to sit in the front row behind home plate at the oldest stadium in the country! In front of the Harry Caray statue

Miss you Lou!

Random Pictures

I feel like I've been battling Beau's thrush since he arrived but I think we finally got rid of it. After the presciption medication wasn't working, the ped suggested trying Gentian Violet, which as it turns out, would have been much easier to start with. Just one application, and the thrush was gone! Live and learn I guess.
A photo in a magazine inspired me to take more pictures of cherry blossoms. I haven't gotten the shot I want but am having fun experimenting with my camera.

My new favorite photo of Lainey. She likes to see photos of herself on my camera but doesn't understand that she needs to let me take a picture of her first. We go round and round over that one.

Just like I did with Lainey, after nap it's photo shoot time.

Easter Surprise

I have a hunch I will be getting hit with questions from impatient relatives in North Dakota for Easter photos. I am late in posting pics because Robert left the next morning for a business trip to Chicago and took the camera I used on Easter Sunday. He took the camera because he knew he was going to the Cubs home opener at Wrigley Field and got fabulous seats in the front row. Anyway.....in my Easter card, my aunt Diane sent me this picture of my Dad when he was little. Apparently it's from his Catholic school days when he was required to wear a tie. I love this picture! What a cutie! Thank you Aunt Diane for a great Easter surprise!
P.S. I'll get the photos of the munchkins in their Easter outfits soon. I promise!

Hats

For the most part, finding cute clothes for Beau has been difficult. Much like men's clothing, there just aren't many options. I like him to look like a little man, not dressed in pastel blue with cutesy characters, etc. One thing I do like however, are the hats I'm finding.

This last hat is too big yet but my favorite. I can't wait to see him in it when he gets a little bigger.

Lunch with Daddy

Yesterday marked the first time this year that we drove downtown to meet Daddy for lunch at a park near his work. Last year Lainey and I met him quite a few times, sometimes he joins us for a bit at the zoo. It's fun to see him during the middle of his workday.

Fun on SUNday

With our to-do lists completed [Robert had taxes, I had laundry, Lainey had toys to pick up, and Beau just had to look cute], we headed out for some fun outside in the sun.

While Beau chilled out in the stroller and soaked up the fresh air, the rest of us hit the playground.

Add Haircut for Lainey to the to-do list

The ever so stylish Miss L
