Family

I took this picture last night while we were watching American Idol. Yes, Lainey was watching. I usually don't have the tv on while she's around but it was almost bedtime and I was worn out! She was so cute sitting her in little chair. She's getting so big! Then, I looked at the picture and realized that is my FAMILY--I have a FAMILY!!! For so long I could never picture myself as a parent and here was all of my hopes and dreams realized in one picture. What a way to end the day!

One of those days

The dog hasn't really moved from his perch on the couch all day. Well, except to bark at a couple of squirrels and to get a snack. It's really the only place he's safe from Lainey's little hands so I guess I can't blame him for seeking higher ground!

And anything else that she can shake and make some noise. Good thing Cooper is still quick enough to avoid being grabbed--I'm sure he'd make some noise if she shook him!!

Bringing the outdoors in

Since it's so stinkin cold outside, I decided to dig out Lainey's play tent. Good thing it's SPF 50--she might get a sunburn in the living room! I did notice there were apricots, nectarines and peaches in the grocery store-and not for $12 a pound either! So spring is coming. It has to. Right?

Tasty Morsels

For some time now Lainey has had a fascination with Cooper's food and water dish. At first she just liked to play in the water bowl. Then, she liked to crawl all the way into his little house and play. That led to taking handfuls of his food out and dumping it on the floor. See where this is leading? Now, today, she grabbed his food and was attempting to put a handful of it in her mouth! As I grabbed it and explained to her for the 1000th time, we don't eat dog food, she gave me this huge smile and let out a little evil laugh! What am I going to do? Seriously, I'm open to suggestions! The dog isn't allowed upstairs alone so where do I put his food and water dish during the day?

Getting so big

Lainey loves crawling under and between and the chairs and lately has gotten herself stuck underneath them. She usually lets out a wail but decided to ham it up for the camera last night.

Daddy got himself a late Christmas present and Lainey and I think it's the biggest box we've ever seen. It's almost as big as Aunt Nan!

Lainey is obsessed with the cabinet in my desk and usually I keep some toys in there for her. I haven't had a chance to restock it yet today and apparently there was one toy at the very back. Apparently she wanted it really bad and decided to go after it. It's either that or she's discovered a secret passage-way to Toys R Us.

Chunky Monkey

Most likely the last we'll see of these pj's--it's getting hard to squeeze her into them! And they are size 18 months! But she sure is cute in them!

Determined

The new cupboard locks work great for everyone--except Lainey!! She's determined to get them off!

Visit from the Gwaltney's

Our good friends, Lance and Ally and their boys, Dawson, Evan and Logan came to visit us on New Year's Day. Lainey had a great time getting attention from three boys which made Robert very nervous! They are just the cutest little guys!

Invading Coop's Territory

You should've seen the look on Cooper's face when Lainey crawled into his house. Priceless!!
